Bean to Bliss — Episode 1 (video & transcript)

So yeah, I finally arrived at the Cocoa Coast. Half of the city sits on top of the mountain, and the other half is at the bottom. Check out the view! I’m so excited to be here, and you have to see this place for yourself. The whole area just feels incredible.
One thing to note is that this view ties back to the colonial history of Portugal. There are a lot of people around, and it seems like it’s always been this way. The energy here is vibrant, and it’s a mix of old and new.
I’m also getting used to the little things, like carrying some coins for small purchases or transport. I’ve got my wallet ready for when I go overseas, but I’m a bit worried about getting robbed, so I’m keeping things simple. I even use plastic bags to stay organized. It’s all part of the adventure.
Right now, I’m just taking in the surroundings. I can see a local guy fishing nearby, which is pretty cool to watch. I’m also checking out the full map of the ferry network. On Thursday morning, we’re going to hop onto the ferry in Salvador and then hop off in Itaparica. That’s the plan, and I’m looking forward to what Thursday brings.
